A 44-year-old man sustained serious injuries following a shooting on Tuesday.

The Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at an apartment building on the 200 block of High St. E on Tuesday to find no fire had occurred.

Emergency responders discovered that a man had been shot and required immediate attention. 

The Moose Jaw Police Service was immediately called to the scene and charged the 34-year-old suspect with attempted murder, whose name was not released, without incident.

The firearm was recovered. 

The victim, a 44-year-old man, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police does not believe there are any other suspects involved, and there is no further risk to the community related to this incident. 

The suspect remains in custody and will be appearing in court by Thursday.
