Moose Jaw City Councillor wants to know why Moose Jaw is so far down in the pecking order when it comes to the provincial government.

With the announcement of a new day surgery unit for Regina, at least one Moose Jaw City Councillor is getting a little frustrated with the Saskatchewan Health Department.

Councillor Dawn Luhning wants a meeting with Health Minister Len Taylor to find out why plans for a new facility is Regina are moving along while no plans are even being mentioned for the upgrade to the Moose Jaw Union Hospital?

"I don't want him to pass this off to his Executive Assistant of the Deputy Minister. This is a conversation that we as elected officials need to have with elected officials and I think that we need to try and sort out and get to the bottom of where this hospital expansion is. We're now into the second year of all of us paying $40 on our taxes for this expansion and there's just no sign of it happening."

While Sask. Health calls the expansion a priority that they are aware of, nothing has been announced, no plans drawn up, and no mention of a start date.

"The province is going to give the City of Regina another facility and this provincial government seems to be all about Regina and Saskatoon."
