Provincial Agriculture Minister Bob Bjornerud toured the drought affected areas of the province last week.  Bjornerud says he visited a good portion of the province, "We started around Outlook and up to Rosetown, Wilkie, Unity, Bigger and then Edam, North Battleford and then up towards Lloydminster.  West of Kindersley, Rosetown was probably the worst we saw."

Bjornerud says there have been some changes to crop insurance, "They can burn is off before July 15th and still claim that as summer follow for this year.  Now with the little bit of rain that has came in some of those areas that's help a bit.  Some of those crops are actually germinating now and they think they're going to get a little bit of cover and they want to be able to burn that off."

Bjornerud adds a number of the fields he looked at he really had to look close to see if they were even seeded.
