There was a great crowd on hand for the Wheatland Conservation Area's Annual Field Tour.

This year's Mustard field day was held in conjunction with the Agronomy in Action event  with  producers from around the province taking part.

The event included presentations on mustard variety trials, crop sequencing and herbicide options for mustard.

Barbara Ziesman the Provincial Specialist for Oilseed Crops reminded producers about the importance of monitoring  pre-harvest intervals and maximum residue limits.

"MRL's are very important. Just because a product is registered in Canada and the MRL is established, this doesn't mean that we have have MRL's in exporting countries. So it's very important to talk to your buyers ahead of choosing a product and make they are ok with you using that product and that they do have a market for it."

She also reminds producers that going against label rates or timing is going to impact your residue levels.
