Today’s rainfall is a welcome site in many areas.

The forecast is calling for the rain to continue throughout today and tomorrow.

The rain is hitting some of the driest areas in the province.

Doug Gillespie is President of the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association.

"The rain sure makes everyone smile, if nothing else. It reduced the fire hazard and the moisture just kind of perks everybody up, and for the grain farmers this will help fill the crops I think, so it's just very good all around."

The forecast is calling for rainfall totals of 50 to 80 mm by Tuesday evening with locally higher amounts in thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the Agriculture industry is smiling with the recent rainfall.

What had been some of the dryer areas of the Province that had been looking for rain are finally getting some moisture.

Showers began overnight in some areas and are expected to continue
Bruce Burnett with the CWB’s Market Research Service’s Team talks about the impact.

"Over the years that we've seen some of these rains, and probably the lentil crop is going to be better. The durum and wheat though has already suffered, and it's starting to get to the point where it's in the soft to mid stage, so there's not a lot to help it in terms of improving yields."

The moisture is definitely a welcome site for producers who had seen some drought stress in their crops and pastures.
