Technically, you can't just grow a pizza, but the ingredients needed to make one can be grown on the farm.

It's a fun and delicious way to get more young people interested in agriculture.

Val Panko, Regional Farm Business Specialist with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture, says they have started a Pizza Farm in Moose Jaw, where they grow the ingredients needed to make a pizza.

"We'll grow a wedge for canola," Panko says, "a wedge for wheat, we'll have wedges for vegetables like tomatoes, peppers, onions, and then we'll have a wedge for a dairy cow and a wedge for a hog, for pork."

The farm is located north of the Trans-Canada Highway at the intersection with Thatcher Drive across from the Prairie Oasis.

She adds, "The big thing that's coming up right now is that next week, June 10th and 11th, we have grade three and four classes from Moose Jaw area coming to visit the project and attend a demonstration day over the course of two days to educate them about what we're growing, what the project is and just about agriculture in general."
