A new pilot program is being launched at post-secondary campuses across the province to raise more awareness to agriculture.

Shelley Jones  the Manager of Agriculture Awareness with the Ministry  says out of 25 applications they selected 4 ambassadors.

This years ambassadors are Mackenzie Mueller and Brentt Becker at the University of Regina, and Alanna Orsak and Cody Troidl  at the University of Saskatchewan.

"They're expected to support and initiate on campus activities that will be learning events for people outside the industry. So things like participating in career fairs and expos, organizing speaking and networking events for campuses, encouraging the kids that they go to school with to join them in their advocacy efforts," Jones said.

Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart says it’s inspiring to see the applicants’ dedication to raising agriculture awareness and understanding, adding they had so many qualified applicants that it was difficult to choose the final four.
