Organizers for last week's Canada's Farm Progress Show in Regina are pleased with this year’s event.

This year marked the show's 40th anniversary and featured gate discounts, new programming with an Empowered Women’s Conference, a sold-out trade show and increased interest from international visitors.

The International Business Centre notes a number of qualified buyers did business at the show with $360 million dollars in sales reported.

Cool, windy and rainy weather probably kept some people away with overall attendance reported at 38,000 people. It was down from the 40,000 usually seen.

Show Manager Shirley Janeczko says work is already underway for next year's show.

She notes the show’s footprint will grow again next year since they will be able to use the new International Trade Centre.
