Leading up to Father’s Day the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association are encouraging all producers and colleagues to wear plaid on Friday (June 16) to help raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer.

In Canada, one in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.

Robin Speer is the Executive Director of the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association and is Chair of the Saskatchewan Leadership Council for Prostate Cancer Canada.

"We're encouraging everyone to sign up at plaidfordad.ca and wear plaid tomorrow," he said. "You can share your fun photos with the hashtag plaidfordad and let's talk about this, let's raise awareness and let's raise funds to cure this disease."

The Man Van will be on site next week at Canada’s Farm Progress show and at Ag In Motion next month doing on-site blood tests that can help in identifying a problem.
