The Federal Election is five days away, and farmers are interested to see what agriculture issues the major parties will raise in the campaign.

David Anderson, the Conservative candidate and incumbent MP for Cypress Hills-Grasslands, says his party will continue to do what they've done in the past to help producers continue to do business and make their own decisions.

"We've worked with the ranchers on COOL - we're going to continue that fight.  It's a bit frustrating for people at the length that it takes before these sanctions can be put in place but there's a process and we're going to see that through. Obviously, a lot of the ranchers are very happy with the cattle insurance that put in place in the last few months - so we're going to continue to work on that, as well," Anderson said.

Anderson adds one issue he would like to address is the contracting issue between railways and shippers, and grain companies and farmers, and will work to make the process more transparent if re-elected.

Also running in the riding are Trevor Peterson for the New Democrats, Marvin Wiens for the Liberal Party, and William Caton for the Green Party.
