Harvest has essentially wrapped up in the Province with 99% of the crop in the bin.

Saskatchewan Agriculture releasing the final crop report of the season.

Cropping Management Specialist Shannon Friesen says it was a long and challenging harvest with rain, delayed maturity and a second growth of weeds showing up:

"We certainly had some guys desiccate and combine of their pulses late July and early August. So it's nice to finally be able to say that harvest is essentially done. Of course, there are still some fields out there such as flax, some oats -  things that are really slow to dry down or were seeded a bit late. Other, than a few fields here and there, harvest is wrapped up," Friesen said.

Yields varied around the province but are reported as average in most cases with Spring Wheat at 37 bushels an acre, durum at 38, canola 34, peas are 31 while lentils are at 1,293 pounds per acre.
