A series of webinars put on by the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce continues this week.

"Grab Your Slice: How to Access Federal Support For Your Business" is focused on helping businesses access federal funding through the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We're providing webinars, free of charge," said Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce CEO Steve McLellan, "for Saskatchewan business people, large and small, to get very detailed information on the opportunities and current federal support programs that will allow those businesses, if eligible, to apply and hopefully, get a greater slice of the federal programs that are available."

In McLellan's view, Saskatchewan businesses are leaving money on the table at the moment, as the federal government has offered numerous supports that not all employers are taking advantage of. Part of the problem may be that this is simply unfamiliar territory for the average business owner.

"These programs can be very complicated," he said. "The situation from each business is unique. Even the programs themselves have changed some of the criteria. So it's important for businesses to get an hour and a half session deep-diving into what the criteria are, what they have to do to apply and we think it's going to deliver more dollars for Saskatchewan than we've got at present."

The next webinars run Nov. 26 at 10 a.m. and Nov. 27 at 2 p.m.
