Moose Jaw's Multicultural centre is holding their inaugural open house on Wednesday, September 18th.

It's a great chance to see who they are, what they do, and how you can get involved.

Being held at St. Andrews church, 60 Athabasca St. east, and you enter through the back door.

Settlement worker Yvette Mitchell on what the event will hold.

"We're going to have a presentation with the settlement workers. Also, the people that work with the children in the schools. We'll have the employment coordinator there, as well as booths set up so you can learn about all of the services that we have. And we're going to have lots of food as well. Syrian treats, as well as Golden Catering. We have really delicious food, it will be great."

You can park in the library parking lot, or around the side streets there, and come in through the back. You'll see signs as they will have numerous signs posted.

"We do have the event posted on Eventbrite, you can sign up right through that link. You can also call our front desk here, our number is 693 4677, and we can sign you up from there."

The event runs from 6:30 to around 8:15, and is completely free to all who attend, only having people sign up to give them an idea of how much food to have prepared.

Mitchell said they're hoping to attract a variety of people.

"We want to reach out to people that we're working with right now, as well as anybody who wants to volunteer. So we want to have people and families who are interested in working with us or showing people around the community. But we also want to work with businesses that have jobs that some of our clients could apply to. Basically we want everybody coming out. We would love to have families there, kids, adults, students, it's for everybody."

With about 50 people signed up so far, and they're trying to get around 80 people, they still have lots of room for people to come out for the evening.
