The Brandon Wheat Kings scored four goals in four minutes and 15 seconds in the second period and went on to beat the Moose Jaw Warriors 6-0 Saturday at Mosaic Place.

Both teams played well in the opening period.  They came up the ice fast on the attack and did a good job creating shots off the rush, and they were able to hunt down pucks for second opportunities.

Goalies Boston Bilous and Ethan Kruger made several key saves for their teams throughout the opening period, keeping the game scoreless going to the intermission.

The Warriors had a strong opening shift to begin the second period, they were able to feed Owen Hardy driving the net but the Captain was not able to beat goalie Ethan Kruger.

Brandon opened the scoring at 7:59 with a goal from Ben McCartney when he drove the Warriors net and was able to punch the puck in.

Playing four-on-four midway through the period, the Wheat Kings went up 2-0 on a goal from Connor Gutenberg when he deflected the puck over the Moose Jaw goal line.

38 seconds later Luka Burzan scored to increase the Wheat Kings lead, that was followed by a goal from Lynden McCallum at 12:14 to give Brandon a four-goal lead.  McCallum added another goal later in the period to make it 5-0 for the visitors rolling towards the third period.

In the final 20 minutes, the Warriors outshot the Wheat Kings 14-12 but they were not able to hammer the puck over the goal line.

Brandon added another goal in the final period and went on to beat the Warriors 6-0.

The Warriors have a busy schedule next week when they will play 4-games in 5-days.

It starts Wednesday at Mosaic Place when they take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Friday they head to Swift Current and then they will square off against the Broncos the following night in downtown Moose Jaw, the weekend ends Sunday with their first trip of the season to Winnipeg to play the ICE.
