The Moose Jaw Miller Express took a licking from three games on the weekend, getting outscored 36-14.

The team lost a pair of games in Medicine Hat – 15-5 Saturday and 8-5 Friday before Sunday afternoon’s home game. While the Millers looked sharp wearing retro Astros jerseys that were being auctioned off after the game, they still lost 13-4 in a game that seemed to be lost early.

Nothing was going well for the team for the three games and Millers head coach Rich Sorensen said there's not much that can be taken from the losses.

“Unfortunately right now, our pitching is a little suspect,” he said. “It doesn’t help when you give up six runs in two innings against good teams now.”

The team has slipped to one game below .500 on the season.

“I think the guys know that these are the dog days and that we’re seeing the end of the tunnel here,” said Sorenson. “The playoffs are just around the corner and so we have got to start playing a little bit better baseball.”

The Millers have Monday off before playing the Weyburn Beavers tomorrow night at Ross Wells Park.
