Ways To Stay Fit & Eat Right Through the Holidays...

alt One of the main things you look forward to over the holidays is all the delicious different foods family and friends make throughout the holidays.

By the time the holidays come to an end you are not feeling too great about all the foods that you have eaten. Here are some helpful hints on different things you can eat and do to stay active and healthy over the holidays.

  • Go for a nice walk or jog, dressing appropriately for the weather.
  • Reading food labels while shopping for holidays goodies. These are just a few examples on what to look for; cane juice, high fructose, corn syrup, etc... All of these examples are extra added sugars your body doesn’t need.
  • Have fresh fruit and vegetables sitting out on the table, instead of cookies and crackers and other munchies.
  • Try mixing in some avocado in with your meals. Avocado decreases your chance of heart disease, and gives you a huge intake of Vitamin E.
  • If you have that chocolate craving over the holidays, the best chocolate for you is dark chocolate which is a great antioxidant.
  • Last but not least take your daily vitamins and drink lots of water.

Choosing a healthy lifestyle diet and being active throughout the holidays makes you and your loved ones feel better and gives everyone more energy. With having a healthy lifestyle it lowers the risk of obesity and high blood pressure and many other health problems. Keep in mind moderation is key to all your activities over the holidays. Keep your fitness up and healthy eating throughout the holidays.

Have a great holiday and a very Merry Christmas!
