The Moose Jaw Warriors are hoping to stop a loosing streak before it gets out of control.

The WHL franchise dropped both of their games this past weekend to open the season with an 0-2 record. The Tribe is in Prince Albert Wednesday night to take on the Raiders and hopefully give fans something to cheer about.

Some good news Tuesday was the return on Joel Broda. The 6'0 196 pound native of Prince Albert is expected to be in the line up when he returns to his home town Wednesday.

Broda was taking part in training camp with the Washington Capitals of the NHL. Last season, Broda accumulated 28 goals and 22 assists for 50 points in 70 regular season games.

Meanwhile, the Moose Jaw Warriors have released for reassignment defenseman Ty Ariss. The 6’1, 185 pound defenseman joined the team back on November 8th, 2007 from the Portland Winter Hawks. Since joining the Warriors he dressed in 23 regular season games.

“We just felt that in fairness to Ty at 18 he needs to be given a fresh start with an opportunity to play regularly,” commented Warriors General Manager Chad Lang. “We want to thank him for his dedication and commitment to our program and want to wish him all the best in the future.”

Join James Gallo for all of the action Wednesday night from Prince Albert on the Home of the Moose Jaw Warriors Country 100-100.7fm. The pregame show starts at 7:15pm.
