| New Farmers Almanac Now Available! |
|
Some people swear by it! The 2009 Farmers Almanac is now available. Almanac Managing Editor Sandy Duncan says a weather plot nosticator uses several different things to predict weather for the year. "This formula is very mathematical and astronomically oriented. It takes things like sun spot activity, position of the planets and a lot of other things into consideration". Duncan says we can expect cooler temperatures for the next few months. "September isn't going to be too bad. It starts to get a bit stormy towards the end of the month, however October really looks kind of wet. In fact just a wet snow is kind of predicted towards the end of the month. And then looking into November and December it'll really start to turn quite cold and then we should see a good amount of snow come mid-December". We're also supposed to brace ourselves for a true Canadian winter. "Unfortunately the Canadian Farmers Almanac is calling for numbingly cold winter conditions in your area, we're in fact saying that temperatures are going to be much below normal and you're going to pretty much have an average snowfall for the season", said Duncan. The Farmers Almanac, which dates back to the early 1700's was originally a way for farmers to figure out when the sun would rise and set. Today it comes complete with tips for natural cures, recipes, and a number of different articles. |
