For some, the season is already underway. But for the Moose Jaw Warriors and their WHL hopefuls, the fun is just getting started.

The local franchise has yet to play against another team in the league but have been hard at work preparing for that big chance. It'll come this weekend when they travel to Saskatoon for the Ice Breaker Preseason Tournament.

Giffen Nyren has some of the fastest feet on the team and this season he's looking to break out of his shell. Nyren will be one of the Warriors biggest offensive weapons as he builds on a great previous season.

"Training camp was a blast and its nice to get back into the swing of things and back with the boys. It was an intense camp and the young guys put up a good fight and I know myself, I got a little beat up during camp but that's how it goes."

The Warriors open up their exhibition season Saturday in Saskatoon against Swift Current.
