A tough night for the Green and White last night in Edmonton. After a well deserved bye week, which gave the Riders some time to heal up both mentally and physically, something seemed to be missing last night, or perhaps the wet grass and hostile environment at Commonwealth Stadium was too much for the Green and White to handle.
After jumping out to an early 10-0 lead, the Riders had just intercepted the ball, and looked to have thing under control. That however was not the case though as Edmonton put up 27 unanswered points and cruised to a 27-10 win.
Marcus Crandell went 7/24 for 134 yards and 1 touchdown, while Steven Jyles was 5/8 for 42 yards. Wes Cates picked up 77 yards off of 14 carries but failed to hit the endzone, while Weston Dressler had 61 yards off of 2 receptions and The Riders lone major.
With the loss the Riders are now 6-2 on the season, 2 points up on Edmonton for top spot in the west.
The next action for the Riders is August 31st when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers roll into Regina for the Annual Labour Day Classic. |
