$5,546,712 is the fundraising total for the 37th edition of Kinsmen Telemiracle. The 20-hour telethon, which raises funds for special needs in Saskatchewan, came to a close Sunday afternoon at TCU Place in Saskatoon.
As always, Saskatchewan people made the call and it was Saskatchewan people who answered. Through pledges, estate gifts and large corporate donations, Telemiracle has now raised more than $100 million in 37 years.
Since 1977, money raised has helped people with things like travel and lodging when they're away from home for treatments to providing equipment like wheelchairs and walkers to help those in need get where they need to go.
Telemiracle 38 will be held next March in Regina.
