Howden In Sunshine State

In the summer Quinton Howden's dream of playing in the NHL came closer when he was drafted 25th overall by the Florida Panthers, and this week he'll inch even closer to someday playing in the show.

Howden landed in the sunshine state Friday where he'll take part in the Panthers rookie camp.

Usually as a first round pick theirs a lot of pressure when you come to your first camp, but Howden feels his situation is different.

"Florida had a good draft, they had three first rounder's.  I don't think there's that much pressure on my back, but I'm going to go there and enjoy the experience," said Howden.

"Going to an NHL camp is something I've dreamed about my whole life.  I'm not going to try and put to much pressure on myself, I'm just going to out there have fun and do what I do," added Howden.

Florida rookie camp runs from the 10th to the 14th, and then Howden will look to get in some game action on the 15th and 16th when they play Nashville.  From there, he'll be hoping for an invite to main camp which starts the 17th.
