Just when it looked like the Moose Jaw Warriors were going to pull off a big win, Matt Calvert took the wind out of their sails. The Brandon Wheat Kings sniper scored with just 27 seconds to go, forcing overtime and subsequent shootout the Civic Centre Saturday night.
Jay Fehr went on to score the shootout winner as Brandon beat Moose Jaw 5-4. Toni Rajala scored twice for Brandon, while Scott Glennie had their other goal in regulation time. Antonin Honejsek, Kevin Smith, Cody Smuk and Brendan Rowinski scored for the Warriors, whose record falls to 15-9-1-1 on the season. Jacob De Serres made 39 saves in regulation and four more in the shootout, while Jeff Bosch made 21 saves for the Tribe. The Warriors next action is on the road next Friday, November 27th in Red Deer. |
