You know, I'll admit, I got a little tingle of excitement when I found the new phone book in my mailbox last week.

It took me back to when times were simpler and we needed, literally needed the phone book.  It was and still is a useful reference tool - just not essential like it used to be.

We asked our followers on Facebook if they still use it and we found out some do.

Sheila wrote, "We use our phone book.  Sadly, some people who have cell phones do not have their numbers in the book."

Shelly says, "Yes, I sure do.  I hope they don't take that away too", and a couple of people say they have phone books at home and in their vehicles.

Remember when we were kids?  The arrival of the new phone book was almost as exciting as getting the new Christmas catalogues.

I remember the first thing I did with the phone book was check to make sure our family name, address and telephone number was proper in print and then I'd check out the restaurant menus.

Last week, I checked to make sure my name ISN'T in the phone book and then checked out the restaurant menus.  In fact, I ordered in that night.  It seemed like the right thing to do.
