After putting the project off to next year, City Hall has decided to go ahead with crosswalk upgrades.

Upgrades will be coming sooner than later for the crosswalk in front of the Temple Gardens Mineral Spa.

Moose Jaw City Engineer Ryan Johnson tells us Council has approved the 24 thousand dollars in immediate cost share funding for the project. "What's been happening at the Temple Gardens Mineral Spa is buses have been parking right across the crosswalk and as a result pedestrians have to squeeze between vehicles and look around vehicles and unfortunately they're right in the middle of traffic. What we've proposed to do is look at a cost share to build out the sidewalk."

This will prevent the illegal parking making it safer for pedestrians.

The Spa has agreed to pay for about half of the project.
