The Moose Jaw Warriors have booked their ticket to the Eastern Conference Championship. The Warriors knocked out the Swift Current Broncos in five games after battling their way to a 4-2 win in Game 5 on Friday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. 

Warriors forward Jagger Firkus scored a natural hat trick in the series-clinching game to lead the Warriors to the victory. Jackson Unger put together his second straight 30-save performance, turning away 34 shots to backstop the Warriors to the win.

The Warriors and Blades will open the Eastern Conference Championship next Friday in Saskatoon. Tickets for Games 3 and 4 in Moose Jaw are on sale at the Moose Jaw Events Centre Box Office and online at mjwarriors.ca.

Elsewhere in the WHL, the Portland Winter Hawks shutout Everett 5-0, while the Prince George knocked off Kelowna 6-3. Prince George will host Portland in game one of the Western Conference Championship Friday night.

The Stanley Cup Playoff got underway over the weekend. It was a rough start for the Toronto Maple Leafs who fell to the Boston Bruins 5-1. The Winnipeg Jets took a 1-0 series lead over the Colorado Avalanche following a thrilling 7-6 win. The Vancouver Canucks doubled up on the Predators 4-2. The Oilers host the King tonight at 8 p.m.

In the Majors, after taking down the Padres on Friday and Saturday, the Blue Jays fell 6-3 yesterday. The Jays begin a four-game series against the Royals this evening at 5:40 p.m.
