After months of not meeting, local places of worship are slowly beginning to re-open after getting the go-ahead from the provincial government several weeks ago.

Victory Church in Moose Jaw held their first service on Sunday after a sixteen-week hiatus. Lead Pastor Dan Godard says the congregation is thankful and excited to finally be able to meet again in person.

He explains how they are adapting to the new regulations:

"We're thankful to have a building that is perfectly set up for this with separate entrances and exits so there's no traffic. One thing that's different is that all those who are serving or volunteering in any capacity are wearing a face mask. Especially anyone who sings."

Despite these changes, Godard says the services still feel familiar.

"We're going to start with our regular two services and see how it goes. We know that not everyone will come back at first. Of course, there are folks that are in vulnerable and at-risk categories that we're encouraging to stay home. We also don't have children's ministry at this time so a lot of families are going to continue watching online."

Godard says that this hybrid model will help Victory keep its congregation safe while still ministering to their needs.
