Visitation guidelines for acute and long term care homes, as well as personal and group homes, will be changing starting Tuesday.

Starting Tuesday, two family members or support persons can be identified to support patients and residents, and only one family member can be present during that time.

Two people may be present if physical distancing can be maintained for critical care, end of life, or maternal services units.

Family members and support persons must follow safety guidelines including medical-grade masks, physical distancing, hand hygiene, and limited movement within a facility or home.

The standards will apply to all facilities throughout the province.
