On April 28, 2024, at approximately 2:20 p.m. the Moose Jaw RCMP received a report of human remains that had been located in a rural area northeast of Moose Jaw.

A forensic anthropologist and pathologist have examined the remains and believe they have been at the location for 10 years or longer. It is believed at this time that the death was not suspicious in nature. The individual has not yet been identified.

This investigation is still ongoing, and historical missing persons reports in the area will be considered, with an update to be provided as soon as more information becomes available. 

Moose Jaw RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Historical Case Unit will continue searches in the rural area northeast of Moose Jaw. Residents may notice an increased police presence.
