A new outdoor season at the Crescent Park courts is ramping up for the Moose Jaw Tennis Club.

Registration is now open for their outdoor memberships and group lessons. The club is also planning four free “Try Tennis” sessions this spring. Dates for these sessions are still to be announced.

Bryce Warren, an executive member with the tennis club, said the club’s membership numbers are fairly strong.

“We’re usually hovering around 150 I believe,” he said.

Lessons and league play for members will start during the week of May 6. Lessons include adult learn to play, progressive learn to play for ages five to 12, intermediate learn to play for ages nine to 12 and team tennis for ages 13 to 16.

Warren said tennis is a great activity for people of all ages.

“It’s a fun sport for families, it’s great exercise and we have a beautiful facility in downtown Moose Jaw in Crescent Park. It’s a great facility for everyone to come out and try to play tennis,” he said.

Leagues get underway with men’s doubles and singles on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., women’s doubles on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and round-robin social league play Monday to Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. that runs from May to October.

The tennis courts in Crescent Park feature five lit courts, which were resurfaced in 2022.
